This word has made me stop and think about my life. The good, the bad, the indifferent. Most days I feel overwhelmed. House chores, being a mom and a wife, running an online business, bible study, and friends and the list goes on and on.

I read this quote from a book that asked the question, ” in your day, are you moving more towards Jesus or away?” It took my breath away. And made me question how I run my day. I waste so much time on social media. Scrolling and scrolling (tell me I’m not the only one).

It makes me insane at times when I’ve put so much time online and no sales, comments/retweets, likes and so forth, and nothing happens.

Investment is my word for this year. You can read more about that here. I should add the word be to this year also.

Be productive

Be relaxing

Be healthy

Be loving

Be in love

Be still

Be a light

Be Jesus

Just stop and be in the moment. I have a love/hate relationship with my phone. So I’ve deleted facebook and twitter from my phone. I still get on these but from on my computer. I’ve been putting my phone down more and soaking up moments with family and friends. And with Jesus.

And you know what, I feel so much better. I have more free time.

How do you just be? Are there things you want to change in your life?

  1. running an online business can be so frustrating – you just have to keep at it, even when it seems like it’s not doing anything. eventually it’ll pay off. growth can be slow…just keep at it! Again lately I’ve felt like I need to take facebook/twitter off my phone – just so much wasted time…I hate that the kids might someday think that my face was always looking down at my phone. Don’t be discouraged, just keep working on your word (investment is a great word, btw) and everything will work itself out. Invest in your biz. Invest in your relationship with God. Invest in your family/friends. Hugs!

  2. Great post today. Love the way you write! Social media is the most exhausting waste of time to me. Yet, somehow tends to suck me in. I have made a HUGE effort since the beginning of the year to stay off as much as I can. I just hate how “important’ we all think it is. It is not. Lately, I’m even trying to only catch up on blog reading on one to two days a week. I want to be more present.

I love hearing from you!
